Privacy Policy

01 Introduction

MyTradersEdge ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our Service at mytradersedge.com.

By using MyTradersEdge, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

02 Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information
When you register, we collect:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Password (encrypted — we never store plain text passwords)

2.2 Trading Data
When you use the Service, we collect and store:

  • Trade records you log or import (dates, instruments, prices, P&L, notes)
  • Trading account information (broker, balance, account type)
  • Screenshots and images you attach to trades
  • Trading rules you define
  • Playbooks you create
  • Broker access credentials (encrypted tokens used for automatic trade sync via Tradovate)

2.3 Usage Data
We automatically collect:

  • Log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent)
  • Device information (device type, operating system)
  • Cookies and session tokens for authentication

2.4 Payment Information
Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We never store your credit card numbers or banking details. We only receive a Stripe customer ID and subscription status.

03 How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the Service
  • Process your subscription and payments
  • Send you account-related emails (confirmation, password reset)
  • Send weekly performance summary emails (if enabled — you can opt out anytime in Account Settings)
  • Generate AI coaching insights from your trade data
  • Improve and develop new features
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

04 AI Coaching and Data Processing

Our AI Coach feature analyzes your trade data to generate personalized coaching insights. This processing:

  • Uses only your trade data — we do not compare or mix your data with other users
  • Is processed via Anthropic's Claude API
  • Is subject to Anthropic's data handling policies (anthropic.com/privacy)
  • Is not used to train AI models
  • Is not sold or shared with third parties

05 Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers:

Supabase Database hosting and authentication — supabase.com/privacy
Stripe Payment processing — stripe.com/privacy
Anthropic AI coaching features — anthropic.com/privacy
Resend Transactional email delivery — resend.com/privacy
Vercel Application hosting — vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
Google Analytics Website analytics (only loaded with your consent) — policies.google.com/privacy
PostHog Product analytics (only loaded with your consent) — posthog.com/privacy

Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.

Business Transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you via email before this occurs.

06 Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure (AWS us-east-2 — Ohio, USA). We implement industry-standard security measures:

  • All data encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS)
  • Passwords hashed using bcrypt
  • Row-level security on all database tables (users can only access their own data)
  • Regular security updates and monitoring

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

07 Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently deleted immediately — including your trades, accounts, settings, and coaching history. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account.

For cancelled subscriptions where the account has not been deleted, your data remains stored until you choose to delete your account. We do not automatically delete data for inactive accounts.

Payment transaction records may be retained longer as required by applicable law (typically 7 years for tax purposes). These records contain only transaction metadata — no card numbers or banking details are ever stored.

08 Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access — Request a copy of your personal data
  • Correction — Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion — Request deletion of your data
  • Portability — Export your trade data as CSV
  • Opt-out — Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
  • Withdraw Consent — Withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time by clearing the mte_cookie_consent key from your browser's localStorage
  • Lodge a Complaint — EU/EEA residents have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority (DPA) at any time

To exercise your rights, contact us at support@mytradersedge.com. We will respond within 30 days. You may also delete your account directly from the Account Settings page within the app, which permanently removes all your data.

09 GDPR (European Users)

European Economic Area: If you are located in the EEA, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Legal Basis: We process your data based on:

  • Contract performance (providing the Service)
  • Legitimate interests (improving the Service)
  • Consent (marketing emails)

Data Controller: MyTradersEdge is the data controller for your personal information.

Data Transfers: Your data is stored in the United States. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission as our legal basis for transferring personal data from the EEA to the US. Our sub-processors (Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, Resend, Anthropic) each maintain their own SCC frameworks for these transfers.

Right to Complain: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (DPA) if you believe your data is being processed unlawfully. A list of EU DPAs is available at edpb.europa.eu.

10 CCPA (California Users)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used
  • Right to delete your personal information
  • Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal data)
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

11 Cookies

We use two categories of cookies:

Strictly necessary (no consent required):

  • Authentication session tokens (keeping you logged in)
  • Security and CSRF protection tokens
  • Your cookie consent preference (mte_cookie_consent in localStorage)

Analytics (loaded only with your consent):

  • Google Analytics (GA4) — measures page views, session duration, and general site usage. Google Privacy Policy
  • PostHog — measures feature usage and user flows within the app. PostHog Privacy Policy

A consent banner appears on your first visit. You can decline analytics cookies at any time — doing so does not affect your ability to use the Service. We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies.

12 Children's Privacy

MyTradersEdge is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, contact us at support@mytradersedge.com.

13 Third-Party Links

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

14 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email at least 30 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
