  2. Go to Performance → select date range
  3. Click Export → download CSV
  4. In MyTradersEdge: Import/Export → select Tradovate → upload file

  2. Go to the Trades tab (not the Orders tab)
  3. Click Export at the bottom right
  4. Select your date range → Export

Import Tips

  • You can import overlapping date ranges — duplicate trades are automatically detected and skipped using unique fill IDs
  • Always select the correct account before importing — trades will be assigned to whichever account is selected
  • Apex Trader Funding, MyFundedFutures, Take Profit Trader, and Lucid Trading accounts have built-in per-instrument commission tables — see Commission Rates for how this works and what to do if your balance doesn't match
  • If your broker isn't listed, use the Column Mapper tab to manually map your CSV columns

Clearing Trades

To delete trades for a specific account:
Go to Customize → find the account → Clear Trades

To delete all trades:
Go to Import/Export → scroll to Danger Zone → Clear All Trades

Logging

Trades

Logging Trades Manually

Click + New Trade in the top right to log a trade manually.

Required: Date, Instrument, Direction (Long/Short), Entry Price, Exit Price, Quantity, P&L

Optional: Setup, Session, Notes, Screenshots (drag and drop chart images), Tags

Asset class tabs at the top switch between Futures, Stocks, Crypto, Forex, and Options — each has relevant fields for that asset type.

Filtering the Journal

Use the filter bar at the top to filter by:

  • Asset class
  • Result (Win / Loss / Breakeven)
  • Direction (Long / Short)
  • Instrument
  • Setup
  • Date range

Use the account selector (top of page) to filter by trading account. Use the period buttons (30d / 60d / 90d / All) to filter by time period.

Trade Detail View

Click any trade row to open the full detail view showing all trade information, attached screenshots, notes, and any rule violations flagged against your trading rules.

Adding Trade Review Notes (Setup, Emotion)

Click any trade to open it, then expand the 📝 Trade Review section to record how the trade actually went. Every field is optional:

  • Setup / Thesis — why you took the trade in the first place
  • Emotion During Trade — pick from Confident, Hesitant, Rushed, FOMO, Revenge, Calm, or Other
  • What I'd Do Differently — the adjustment you'd make next time
  • General Notes — anything else worth remembering
Why bother? The AI Coach reads these fields across your trade history to grade your execution (A/B/C/D) and find patterns between how you felt, how well you executed, and your actual P&L — the kind of insight a plain P&L number can't show you. A losing trade executed to plan can still grade well, and a lucky win taken on FOMO can grade poorly. See AI Coach.

You can also add or edit these fields without leaving the Journal page — see below.

Logging

Daily Session Journal

Logging Your Trading Day

Every day on the Dashboard calendar is clickable — including days with no trades. Click any day to open its Daily Journal panel and log:

  • Pre-Market Bias — your read on the market going into the session
  • How I Felt Going In — Great, Good, Neutral, Stressed, Tired, or Distracted
  • Followed My Rules? — Yes, No, or Partially
  • Biggest Lesson Today — the one thing worth remembering
  • General Notes — anything else
  • Ready to Trade Tomorrow? — Yes, No, or Maybe

Days with a saved entry show a small 📝 icon on the calendar, so you can see at a glance which days you've journaled.

Why bother? Like your per-trade review notes, daily journal entries are included in AI Coach analysis — so it can connect how you felt or whether you followed your rules to how the day actually went.

You can also create and edit daily entries without leaving the Journal page — see below.

Logging

Journal Page

What Is the Journal Page?

Journal sits in the sidebar between Trades and Reports. It's a dedicated home for writing — the recommended place to do all your journaling without needing to open Trades or the Calendar. It has two tabs.

Trade Journal Tab

Shows every trade that has any review notes filled in — date, symbol, P&L, emotion tag, and a preview of your thesis or notes. Filter the list by date range, emotion, or symbol.

To add notes to a trade that doesn't have any yet, use the search box at the top — type a date, symbol, or P&L amount and pick the trade from the dropdown. Its Trade Review fields open right there on the page. Fill them in and click Save.

Clicking any entry already in the list opens the same inline panel, pre-filled, so you can edit it in place.

Daily Journal Tab

Shows every saved daily journal entry, newest first — date, how you felt, whether you followed your rules, and a preview of your biggest lesson. Filter by date range or feeling.

To log a new day, pick a date and click + New Entry. If that date already has an entry, it loads for editing instead of creating a duplicate — so there's no risk of double-logging a day.

Clicking any entry already in the list opens the same panel, pre-filled, for editing.

Performance

Analytics & Reports

Report Tabs
  • Performance — overall P&L, win rate, profit factor, expectancy, max drawdown, best/worst trade, and equity curve chart
  • By Instrument — P&L breakdown per instrument with bar chart, trade count, win rate, and average P&L
  • By Session — performance by market session (Pre-Market, Open, Mid-Day, Power Hour, Close)
  • By Setup — performance broken down by your trade setup tags
  • Day of Week — which days are most/least profitable
  • Risk — risk/reward analysis, average winner vs average loser, largest win/loss
Account Filter & Pro Note

Use the Account dropdown (top right of Reports) to filter analytics to a specific account or view all accounts combined.

Pro Feature: The Performance tab is available on all plans. All other analytics tabs (By Instrument, By Session, By Setup, Day of Week, Risk) require a Pro subscription.

Coaching

AI Coach

What Is the AI Coach?

The AI Coach analyzes your actual trade history and gives personalized coaching feedback — not generic trading tips. It looks at your patterns, your best and worst sessions, your rule compliance, and your behavioral tendencies to give you actionable insights.

This is fundamentally different from per-trade AI annotation. Our AI reads your entire history and coaches you as a trader.

If you've filled in Trade Review notes (thesis, emotion, what you'd do differently) or Daily Journal entries, the AI Coach reads those too. It grades the execution quality of trades it discusses (A/B/C/D) based on your outcome data combined with these notes — not just P&L — so a losing trade executed to plan can grade well, and a lucky win taken on FOMO can grade poorly.

How to Generate a Report
  1. Go to AI Coach in the sidebar
  2. Select an Account (or All Accounts)
  3. Select a Time Period (Today, This Week, This Month, etc.)
  4. Select a Focus Area:
    • Full Review — comprehensive analysis of your entire trading performance
    • Pattern Analysis — identifies your recurring patterns, both good and bad
    • Best Times to Trade — finds your most and least profitable sessions and times
    • Top Mistakes — focuses on what's costing you money
    • Improvement Plan — gives you a specific action plan for next week
  5. Click Generate Report
Report Limits & Tips

Free/Trial users: 3 AI reports total
Pro users: Unlimited reports

Tips for better reports:

  • Use "This Week" or "This Month" for faster generation
  • "All Time" reports may time out on long trade histories — use shorter periods if this happens
  • The more trades you have logged, the more accurate and specific the coaching will be
  • Tag your trades with setups to get setup-specific analysis
Daily Report Cards

Every day you trade, the app automatically calculates a grade (A+ through F) for that day based on your win rate, P&L, rule compliance, and trading behavior.

Click any day on the calendar to see your report card with an AI coaching summary. Grades are cached so they load instantly on revisit.

Morning Routine

Pre-Market Briefing

What Is the Pre-Market Briefing?

The Pre-Market Briefing generates a personalized morning report before you trade. It combines current market conditions with your personal trade history to give you a game plan specific to you — not generic market noise.

Every briefing includes market sentiment, key levels for your instruments, economic events, your best setups for today's day of the week, personal risk warnings based on your history, and a concrete action plan.

How to Generate a Briefing
  1. Go to Pre-Market in the sidebar
  2. Add your instruments to the watchlist — type any symbol (ES, NQ, CL, AAPL, BTC, etc.) and click + Add
  3. Select your asset class: Futures, Stocks, or Crypto
  4. Click Generate Morning Briefing
  5. The briefing streams in within a few seconds
Tip: Your watchlist saves automatically between sessions — add your instruments once and they'll be there every morning.
What's Included in the Briefing
  • Market Sentiment — bullish, bearish, or neutral bias with specific reasoning for your instruments
  • Key Levels to Watch — support and resistance levels per instrument with entry trigger ideas
  • Economic Events — high-impact events today that could move your instruments, with times and expected impact
  • Your Best Setups — based on your last 30 days of trade history, what has actually worked for you on this specific day of the week
  • Risk Warnings — personal danger zones based on your patterns (e.g. if you lose money on Monday mornings, the AI warns you)
  • Today's Game Plan — 5-7 specific actionable bullet points built from everything above
Saving & Reviewing Past Briefings

Click Save Briefing after generating to save it to your history. Past briefings appear below the generator, organized by date. Click any date to expand and review it.

Use Regenerate to run a fresh briefing at any time — useful if market conditions change before the open.

Pre-Market Briefing Limits

Free/Trial users: Limited briefings included in trial
Pro users: Unlimited briefings

If the briefing times out, try reducing the number of instruments on your watchlist or click Try Again.

Prop Firms

Prop Firm Eval Tracker

Setting Up Eval Rules
  1. Go to Customize → click Edit on your account
  2. Scroll to Prop Firm Eval Rules section
  3. Use a Quick Preset or fill in manually:
    • Profit Target ($)
    • Max Daily Loss ($)
    • Max Total Drawdown ($)
    • Min Trading Days
    • Max Trading Days (the 30-day clock)
    • Consistency Rule (% — for PA accounts)
    • Eval Start Date
  4. Save the account
Reading the Eval Tracker

The tracker appears on your Dashboard under the balance card when eval rules are configured.

  • Green progress bars = on track
  • Amber progress bars = approaching limit (>70%)
  • Red progress bars = limit exceeded or violated
⏳ IN PROGRESS — rules not yet met ✅ READY TO PASS — all rules satisfied ❌ EVAL FAILED — a rule was violated
Apex 4.0 Rules (Updated March 2026)

Apex completely overhauled their rules in March 2026. Key changes:

  • Zero minimum trading days — you can pass in one session
  • No consistency rule during evaluation (only applies on PA accounts for payouts)
  • EOD accounts have a Daily Loss Limit; Intraday accounts do not
  • 30 calendar day limit to hit profit target
  • 50% consistency rule applies on PA accounts when requesting payouts

Use the Apex $50K EOD, Apex $50K Intraday, Apex $100K EOD, Apex $100K Intraday, Apex $50K PA, or Apex $100K PA presets for accurate rule tracking.

Planning

Trading Plan

What Is the Trading Plan?

Trading Plan sits in the sidebar under MAIN, right after Playbooks. Think of it as your trading constitution — the one document that defines your markets, risk parameters, and philosophy. Your Rules and Playbooks should flow from what you write here.

What to Fill In

Every field is free-form and optional — fill in as much or as little as you want:

  • Trading Goals — monthly profit target, max drawdown tolerance, evaluation/funding goals
  • Markets & Instruments — checkboxes for Futures, Stocks, Options, Forex, Crypto, plus notes on specific instruments
  • Trading Sessions — checkboxes for Pre-Market, London, Open, Mid-Day, Power Hour, Close, plus session notes
  • Setup Criteria — conditions that must be met before you even consider a trade
  • Entry Rules — specific entry criteria and confirmation signals
  • Exit Rules — your take profit and stop loss approach
  • Risk Management — max contracts per trade, max daily loss, position sizing rules
  • When NOT to Trade — conditions that disqualify a trading day
  • Daily Routine — pre-market prep and post-market review process
  • Prop Firm Rules — specific evaluation rules if applicable

Click Save Trading Plan to save it — a "Last saved" timestamp next to the button confirms it went through.

Downloading Your Plan

Three download options at the bottom of the page:

  • Download as PDF — opens a print-formatted version and triggers your browser's print dialog; choose "Save as PDF" as the destination.
  • Download as Word Doc — downloads a .doc file that opens directly in Microsoft Word.
  • Download as Google Doc — copies your formatted plan to the clipboard and opens a new blank Google Doc; press Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on Mac) to paste it in.
How the AI Coach Uses It

Once saved, your AI Coach reports read your full trading plan alongside your trade history and journal notes — and are specifically instructed to call out deviations between what you planned and what you actually did. Writing a plan isn't just documentation; it becomes something the AI actively holds you accountable to.

Discipline

Rule Violation Tracker

What Is It?

Define your own personal trading rules and the app automatically checks every trade against them. Any trade that breaks a rule gets flagged with a warning in the journal.

Adding Rules & Quick Templates
  1. Go to Rules in the sidebar
  2. Click + Add Rule
  3. Select a Rule Type:
    • Time of Day — no trades before/after a time, or only between two times
    • Trades Per Day — maximum trades per day
    • Loss Limits — stop after X losses, max daily loss, max loss per trade
    • Position Size — max/min contracts
    • Trading Session — only/never trade a specific session
    • Instrument — only/never trade a specific instrument
    • Consecutive Losses — stop after X losses in a row
    • Daily Profit Target — stop after hitting your daily goal
  4. Or use Quick Templates: No pre-market trading, Max 5 trades per day, Stop after 3 losses, Stop after 2 consecutive losses, Max $500 daily loss, Power Hour only, No Open session
Compliance Score & Toggling Rules

Your overall compliance score (0–100%) appears on the Dashboard and in the Rules section. It shows what percentage of your trades followed all your rules. Each rule shows how many trades violated it so you can identify which rules you break most.

Click the toggle next to any rule to enable/disable it without deleting it. Useful for testing different rule sets.

Accuracy

Commission Rates

How Commissions Are Calculated

MyTradersEdge automatically deducts commissions from imported trades so your calculated balance matches your actual broker balance. Apex Trader Funding, MyFundedFutures, Take Profit Trader, and Lucid Trading accounts have built-in per-instrument commission rate tables, so this happens automatically once your account's Broker/Platform is set correctly.

After every CSV import, a balance check modal compares MTE's calculated balance against your actual broker balance. If they don't match, you can enter your commission rates there and MTE will recalculate your trades' P&L on the spot.

Recalculating Commissions for an Existing Account

If your balance still doesn't match after import — or you change your account's rates later — go to Customize, find the account, and click Recalc Commissions. It reapplies the correct commission to every trade on that account and adjusts P&L to match.

Tip: Make sure your account's Broker/Platform field is set to the actual firm you're funded by (e.g. "Apex Trader Funding", not just "Tradovate") — the commission table is looked up from that field.

Accuracy

Commission Rates and Balance Discrepancies

My prop firm isn't supported, or the rates look wrong

We're adding new firm commission rates regularly, but if yours isn't in our presets yet — or your calculated balance still doesn't match after entering commission rates in the balance check modal — just reach out.

Contact support with your prop firm's name and a copy of your CSV export, and we'll get the correct commission rates set up for your firm within 1 business day.

Tip: The same "Contact us" form is available directly inside the balance check modal after import — it pre-fills your account details so you don't have to type them out.

Setup

Account Presets

Available Quick Presets

When adding a new trading account (Customize → Add Account), Quick Presets fill in everything for you in one click:

  • Apex $50K and Apex $100K
  • MFF $50K and MFF $100K (MyFundedFutures)
  • Tradeify $50K and Tradeify $100K
  • Take Profit Trader $50K and Take Profit Trader $100K
  • Lucid Trading $50K and Lucid Trading $100K
  • Tradovate Personal

Each preset automatically fills in the correct starting balance, prop firm rules (max drawdown, daily loss limit, profit target), eval parameters, and commission rates — so you don't have to look any of it up yourself.

Tip: You can still edit any field after applying a preset — it's a starting point, not a lock.

Setup

Customize Page

What's on the Customize Page

Beyond managing your trading accounts, Customize also lets you personalize the symbol lists and settings used throughout the app:

  • Futures Instruments — the symbols that appear in the instrument dropdown when logging a futures trade
  • Stock Symbols — the same, for stock trades
  • Crypto Pairs — the same, for crypto trades
  • Forex Pairs — the same, for forex trades
  • Options Underlyings — the same, for options trades
  • Strategies / Setups — your own personal trading setups (e.g. "ORB", "VWAP Reclaim"), used to tag trades and analyze which setups actually work for you
  • Trading Sessions — your own labels for time-of-day blocks (e.g. "London Open", "Power Hour"), used to categorize trades
  • Tick Values — $/tick values used to calculate P&L when it has to be computed from entry/exit price instead of coming directly from your broker's CSV (manual trade entries, Tradovate's Orders-format CSV, and live Tradovate sync)

Add, remove, or rename any of these to match how you actually trade — they only affect the dropdowns and calculations you see, not your existing trade history.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there really no credit card needed for the trial?

Correct — sign up with just your email and password for instant access for 7 days: unlimited trade logging, CSV import, dashboard, and analytics on 1 trading account, plus 3 AI Coach reports to see what the coaching looks like.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your data is never deleted. If you cancel, your account switches to read-only mode after your billing period ends. You can resubscribe anytime to restore full access.

Can I import trades from my old journal?

If you can export it as a CSV, yes. Use our column mapper to match your CSV columns to our fields. Most users have their full history imported within 15 minutes of signing up.

Why are there duplicate trades after importing?

This can happen if you import overlapping date ranges. Our deduplication uses unique fill IDs for Tradovate/Apex exports to prevent this. If you already have duplicates, go to Customize → Clear Trades for that account and reimport.

The AI Coach timed out — what do I do?

Try selecting a shorter time period like "This Week" or "Today" instead of "All Time" or "This Month". Shorter periods process faster and are less likely to time out.

How does the Eval Tracker know if I failed?

The tracker checks your imported trades against the rules you configured for that account. If your daily loss or max drawdown limit is exceeded on any day, the tracker flags it as a violation. Make sure your trades are imported and assigned to the correct account.

Can I use MyTradersEdge on my phone?

Yes — the app is fully mobile responsive, and you can install it as a home screen app on iPhone or Android for a native-app feel. See Install as an App for step-by-step instructions.

What's the difference between EOD and Intraday Apex accounts?

EOD (End of Day) accounts update your trailing drawdown once daily at market close and have a Daily Loss Limit. Intraday accounts trail your drawdown in real time (including unrealized gains) and have no separate Daily Loss Limit. Choose based on your trading style.

How do I give someone else access to my account?

Sharing accounts is not supported and violates most prop firm terms of service. Each person should create their own account.

I forgot my password — how do I reset it?

On the login screen, click Forgot Password? and enter your email. You'll receive a reset link within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if you don't see it.
